NEWS - MAY 2009 - WHITESIDE NEWS SENTINEL - PAINT THE
TOWN
Logo represents growth of Paint the Town
The logo and t-shirt design for this year's Paint the
Town was created by Lindsay Rosenow Reams, a 1995 graduate
of Morrison High School. Reams now owns and operates her
own design firm, design loft, inc.
"I became interested in high school," she said. After
MHS, Lindsay went to Sauk Valley Community College and
then to Northern Illinois University. She received a degree
in graphic design from NIU. Five years ago Lindsay opened
her own business in Plainfield, IL. "This logo was a back
and forth process," explained Reams. "The board wanted
to do something with the 15 years, 1500 squares idea."
The design features 15 squares in a three dimensional
optical illusion. The different colors of the squares
were chosen by Reams and her friend NIkki Arians, a Morrison
resident and PTT board member to coordinate with this
year's jewel tone shirt colors.
"I haven't missed one year," Lindsay noted.
"That first year I was working at Casa (Gomez). Now
I paint with my kids." In addition to the shirt, Reams
is developing a new Paint the Town website which will
include on-line registration and payment. It is expected
to be up and running in a few weeks. Paint the Town will
take place on Saturday, Sept. 19 on and around Main Street
in Morrison. |
